Oomen-Ruijten: Gender equality is in hearts of people

European Union Turkey rapporteur Ria Oomen-Ruijten has said that for a society to practice gender equality there needs to be a change in the mentality of the society, more so than legal changes, referring to the case of Turkey, where laws enforcing gender equality are in place but the practice is lacking.
