Media should avoid detailed coverage of cases of violence, abuse

The recent discovery of gruesome rape cases in which children were involved in the southeastern province of Siirt and their “sensational” and “extensive” coverage by the media has sparked a debate on the way such cases should be reported, with analysts calling on media outlets to avoid graphic details as well as stereotyping.
